Regurge Volume.M1

Purpose

To calculate mitral regurgitant volume using quantitative Doppler at the level of the mitral valve and LVOT.

Technical Hints

The method uses the standard Doppler determination of stroke volume across an orifice as the product of the cross sectional area of the orifice and the VTI at the level of the orifice. For mitral valve, pulsed Doppler sample volume must be place at the level of the mitral annulus and not at the mitral leaflet tips (as it is done for diastology).
